Halloween Weekend

I LOVE Halloween. Starting September 1st I am ready for all things Fall and trying to soak up every moment before Halloween.

This year Oliver fell in LOVE with Nightmare Before Christmas and even in December still requests to listen to "This is Halloween"....but I have holiday OCD so I keep him on track with Christmas tunes at the moment. :)

We kicked off Halloween weekend with some pumpkin carving.

Ollie stuck his hands in once then immediately asked to wash his hands. ;)

Elle stuck with it and cleared her pumpkin all by herself.
She also dressed herself head to toe for the occasion.

I let her draw on her Spookley Pumpkin face before I carved it.
Eric typically makes the pumpkin seeds and I do all the pumpkin carving.

The orange pumpkin is Elle's Spookley pumpkin and I didn't get a picture of Ollie's but it was Jack Skeleton.

Carving pumpkins is hard work!

This little boy is always right at my feet and I love it!

This was Ollie the next morning, love how he can balance his tiny little body on this step stool.

Moana and Buzz Lightyear all dressed and ready to start the Halloween party!

I wanted a quick picture of their costumes before I added another 5 layers of clothes, it was a COLD night!
(and that off-center wreath is making my skin crawl)

When Unc arrives it means the party has started!

A penguin, Moana, a leopard, Buzz Lightyear, a hot dog and french fries ready to head out for trick or treating.

Both of my babies wanted to walk with MawMaw.

After everyone left we ended the night watching and dancing to Book of Life.

I love you too much.

Then I went into clean up overdrive and took down ALL Halloween decorations and brought out a few Thanksgiving decorations. As much as I love it, when it's over it's over.

The good news is we are in FULL ON Christmas mode at the Hylton house!

Trunk or Treat!

One of my favorite things Elle's school does is Trunk or Treat. The hire a DJ to play Halloween music, you order pizzas for your car in advance...I just love the whole night. Well, this year is was FA-REEZING!!!!! It definitely but a damper on the night but we bundled up, stayed as warm as we could and still had some fun.

My little Moana and Buzz Lightyear ready to head to Trunk or Treat.

I tried to keep the kids in the car as long as possible with the heat on while I decorated the car.

Look at those little poses!!!

There are twin boys in Elle's class and they were parked right by us so Elle and Ollie ran around and played with them before the trunk or treating started.

Some of the 8th graders had some scary costumes and the kids were a little unsure of them when they would walk by.

Eric was working so my mom came to help pass out candy while Mary and I walked around with the kids.

Ollie would say, "trick treat" at every car and was amazing with thanking everyone for the candy.

Henry was dressed as french fries...

and Bear was a hot dog.

We left that night absolutely FROZEN but still had so much fun!
The next morning my little Buzz Lightyear was already back in his wings. :)

Soccer

Last weekend Elle's first soccer season wrapped up. She had done both indoor and outdoor soccer clinics in the past but never a full season so we had no idea how she would do. The soccer clinics never really held her attention and after her first practice I was sure I had made a huge mistake signing her up but we had so much fun!! The game (by far) doesn't hold her attention the full time but when she has her little bursts of energy running after that ball it is the best thing ever!

Before her first game, she was ready to go!

And after her first game.  A happy girl and with a dollar from MawMaw and PawPaw. :)

My girl...full of sass! She wouldn't even pay attention to the ball half the time but her little arms would be out and ready to push anyone who came near her. She told me her PawPaw taught her that.

I begged her to try playing goalie one game and she did great!

She surprised me this weekend and asked to play goalie again. She had one shot on her and she leaped on the ball and saved it. :)

This was right after the game when she scored her FIRST GOAL!!! I was taking her to QT to celebrate with a slushie. :)

The game below was COLD and rainy!! But that didn't stop us from cheering loudly for #19!

Look at that little cluster of girls, all on the same team, all fighting each other for the ball!

Ollie loved going to the games every weekend. He would always sit in his little chair, usually enjoy a sucker and cheer "go sissy!!"

Elle told me that her favorite part of playing is when they line up at the end and shake hands. :)
She also LOVED our week to bring the snack because it meant I was at their bench at half time hanging out.  We were both equally excited about that. :)

All in all it was a great season. Elle had fun but I know we had more fun watching her. I had the BEST time in my lawn chair this Fall cheering on my FAVORITE girl!
