February 2015

February is kind of a blur. Meeting our Oliver Russell is, of course, the highlight of the month...and year. :)  We did manage to squeeze in some other fun though!  I already blogged about our bout with RSV (boo!) and our trip to Columbia, so here is what filled our time the rest of the month.

Elle loves to bake.  We don't do anything crazy, mainly cupcakes or cake batter bars...as long as there are sprinkles the girl is in!

Napping in her bed like a big girl.

Super Bowl fun at Mom and Dad's house.

Ever since Elle had RSV she has started pretending to cough/choke when she is in trouble.  There were a few times when she was sick that she had trouble breathing and she received so much attention from me and Eric that she decided it could possibly also work when in trouble.  Little stinker!

We celebrated Valentine's day with the sweetest little girl around!

One night when we were watching the Grammy's I said, "Taylor Swift looks so pretty!"  Elle immediately replied, "Mommy you look pretty too!".  Girlfriends all about the compliments!

Christmas movies were still going strong in our house in February.  Her favorites are Elmo's Christmas Countdown, Santa Clause 3 and Polar Express.  She says the little girl and two little boys on Polar Express are her, Henry and Charlie.  When she sees the train, she always says. "Mommy, you member that?!"...she's referring to our ride on the train after Christmas.

Both of our legs were completely covered in stickers this night. The girl loves stickers and Band-Aids.

While we were in the hospital having Oliver, Elle was out being spoiled by her MawMaw, PawPaw, MiMi and Unc.

Home from the hospital with Oliver.  His cute little shirt was from Will & Paige.

Babies napping at the same time! :)

Mary and Nick brought the boys over to meet Oliver.  Henry was so good with him! I don't think I've ever seen him sit so still!  Elle made sure to jump right in and let the boys know to only touch his toes and stomach.  If she saw them near his head she jumped into lecture mode. :)

Eric bought some champagne to celebrate Oliver.  He filled a little Mizzou shot glass with sparkling grapefruit juice so Elle could join the toast.  She was in heaven and still requests a shot glass of apple juice from time to time.

Eric had about 5 days off work once Oliver was born.  Life with two and little to no sleep has been much easier than I thought.  Don't get me wrong, there are days Elle wants my undivided attention and nights that Oliver is up every hour but through the magic of caffeine I'm surviving! :)

We also had some good snow days.  This was the first time Elle was able to really go play in the snow.  She loved it! Eric took her sledding in the yard and she built her very own Olaf.  I of course had her dressed in 10 layers and a cup of cocoa with 100 marshmallows waiting for her when they came inside.

Oliver and I stayed warm and cozy inside.

Eric and Elle had a little date night to Frozen on Ice.  She wore her sunglasses the whole time she got ready and for most of the show.  She left the show with a big fear of the snow monster.  My mom and dad had bought Elle a Frozen book with little figurines.  Once Elle opened it and saw the snow monster figurine she took him straight to the trash.

We had a fun slumber party with Maw Maw one night.  We loved having her here!!

Elle is so proud of the picture frame she built with Paw Paw!

Notice the completely unnecessary Band-Aid on her hand. :)

Here is some more Oliver sweetness to finish out the month.
