Trunk or Treat

This year we participated in our very first trunk or treat. I took a half day at work so we could make sure to get there right at 5 to start setting up.

Elle and I worked on the decorating...

while Oliver napped in the car.

This worked out perfectly! I can't imagine trying to corral him while we decorated.

My little Doc McStuffins!

And Truman Tiger!

These two had fun running around and playing before everything started.

Eric had to work so my mom, Mary and the boys met up to help pass out candy and enjoy some trick or treating.

Overall I loved everything about it.  Dinner was taken care of (we ordered a pizza in advance), they had a DJ playing Halloween music, the weather was AMAZING and most of all the kids had a lot of fun.

While Mary and I walked to kids around Mama Rita stayed back to hand out candy at my car.

Such a fun way to kickoff Halloween weekend!!

On a different note, here is Ollie with our pumpkins this year.

Elle and Ollie each painted a little one.  Eric cleaned the big one and I carved it.

October

Trying to soak up every second of October while we can, this month is my favorite and always seems to fly by!

Another outfit put together by Miss Elle.

And look at Ollie's crazy curls behind her mowing the lawn. :)

Lots of playing outside.

Trying to get this boy to eat is sometimes a challenge and eating vegetables is almost impossible. So a smoothie with lots of spinach is what I've been trying.

We went to Elle's Fall Festival at her school and Ollie was too little for all of the rides.
It's not easy being a shorty.

She's a princess but she still loves playing in the rocks and finding rolly polly's.

Don't trust that sweet face, he snuck out of the kitchen with his coloring book and wants to color on the floor again.

Halloween movie night at the Hylton house!
Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Toy Story of Terror with my girl!

Ollie got his guys and was ready for the movie.

Maw Maw days!!

"Which new nail polish should I pick?"
She went with purple and pink sparkles. :)

"Cheeeese"

Elle went to a baby shower with me last weekend.  She started off really shy but then totally opened up.  By the end she was running around with the big kids and helping open presents.

No words.

Fall days are the best park days!

Not positive but I think it may be time to retire this nightgown! haha

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday Eric and I took the kids to the pumpkin patch, this was our first time going to Rombach and the kids had fun! I have always heard it is insanely crowded on the weekends but on a Tuesday afternoon it was pretty slow.  Granted all the attractions weren't up and running (vendors, pony rides, etc.) but still a fun afternoon.

They each picked out a small pumpkin.  Our plan is for them each to paint their pumpkin then carve the larger pumpkin we already had at home.  I carved 2 pumpkins by myself last year while Eric was working.  Elle was completely over it about 5 minutes in so this year we are just doing 1...hopefully tonight so Eric can help!

Ollie boy and his pumpkin.
He was referred to as a girl while at the pumpkin patch but even that's not enough to convince me to cut his hair. :)

Trying his hardest to pick this one up.

"What's this?"

Checking out the animals.

Elle overcame her fear and decided to walk through this long tunnel.  Only after she saw her brother go through it first though! haha

Brave boy. :)

Elle and Ollie were both scared of this Frankenstein.

"Look Look Look!"
"Whoaaaaaa"

Hopefully our little pumpkin painting party tonight is just as fun. :)
