Elle's Birthday Fun

This year instead of a birthday party with friends Elle decided to have a day of fun where we would load the day up with allll the fun things she wanted to do.

She woke up the Saturday morning of her special day to a little present that she could use during our day of fun.

Sissy got a new purse...

with some cash so we could do some shopping!

All ready to get our day started!

Our first stop was just the two of us. We had reservations at Painting With a Twist!

We were ready to start painting!
This was Elle's first time and she was so excited!

It was a kid friendly painting session so we all started with this outline and filled it in step by step.

My soon to be 6 year old!!

Sissy girl did such an awesome job with her painting!!

We will definitely be coming back to do this again! Hopefully sometime this summer!

After painting she changed and we headed to Von Maur to see the REAL Santa. We got there about 15 minutes after Santa arrived and they shut the line down about 5 people behind and told us the end of the line (which is where we were) wouldn't see Santa until 5pm...it was 11:15 at the time. I told Elle I would happily wait in line with her if she wanted. We could have Eric drop off lunch, watch her iPad. If she wanted to see Santa we could definitely stay.

She picked a quick escalator ride where she waved and yelled "hi Santa!" and then we headed to the indoor pool to do some swimming!

After swimming we went home, got cleaned up then hit Five Below so she could spend some of her money!

Then to her favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse.
The yelled and yee-hawed and wished her Happy Birthday.
I don't think I have ever seen her more embarrassed.
Mind you, she wanted us to tell them it was her birthday. :)

The Russells

And my birthday girl!

After dinner we headed to Elle's favorite place for ice cream.

It was the best day celebrating our girl a few days before her birthday!

On Sunday she had indoor soccer and after the game we went for pizza with friends where they surprised her with all her favorite things for her birthday!

These were taken on my last night with a 5 year old little girl.

Why does time go by so fast?

The next morning I woke up with a 6 year old!

More December

I always feel like leading up to Christmas our days are packed with fun stuff. Even the days we have nothing you can always find up driving around looking at Christmas lights or cozied up with one of our favorite Christmas movies. It's just the most fun time of year!!

Look at this sweet girl all ready for school. My little Winter Fairy was so excited about the dusting of snow.

We had Bailey Family Christmas one Saturday.

Ollie was SO EXCITED about a box of Legos he got!

Elle and Ollie had lots of fun with their cousins!

We went to the Lindenwood Christmas Walk one Sunday.
It was cold but we bundled up and had fun!
They loved meeting one of Santa's reindeer!

Henry informed everyone the second we walked into this room, "that's not the real Santa!" haha

These two did some Christmas karaoke.

Elle's Girl Scout troop did some Christmas caroling  at the local nursing home one night.

It is currently May and Ollie is already ready for Christmas. After looking back at all these fun pictures so am I!

Kindergarten Christmas Program

In December Elle had her Kindergarten Christmas Program.

I just love this baby girl SO MUCH!

She was so excited for her big night and loved hanging out with her friends before it started.

In order to get a good seat we get there super early, the Russells passed the time together.

I got some cuddles in with my Paddy.

Sissy did such an amazing job. She sang her little heart out.

So proud of my girl!!

The Voss boys had flowers waiting for her when she was done.

Blowing my mind that Ollie will be in the Christmas Program next year and Elle will move up to the big kids one.

Elle's favorite person in the world is Patrick!

So blessed that we have family that shows up for everything to support our girl!

Afterwards we went to dinner to celebrate our girl.
Sidenote: she got a black eye at school the week of the program. She bumped into a girl in the bathroom and ended up with a black eye. My tough girl!
