Life Lately

Life Lately.

Ollie is eating much better although he still has his days were he almost completely skips a meal. He will shake is little head "no no no" at anything on his plate.  But eating off our plates - totally different story.  I was eating later than the kids so I sat in the living room while they played with a salad.  If Oliver would of had lettuce, tomatoes or cucumbers on his plate he would have NEVER touched them but on my plate? His little hands couldn't stay out if it.  I think I found the key to feeding Oliver vegetables!

Also, according to my parents I did the same thing when I was little. :)

Kisses from Sissy at dinner one night.

This boy will climb on into anything!
If we leave our bedroom door open he will be walking around playing and then if he gets tired we will find him just sitting in our bed with the covers on him ready to go to sleep.

A family tradition of crazy bath time hair!

And these post bath curls just kill me!

Ollie's new party trick!

We were at Henry's soccer game and Elle and Bear went with Unc in the woods on an adventure.

At one point I turned around to check on them and Bear was peeing.  The Voss boys will go to the bathroom anywhere!!

Everyone loves Uncy so much!!

After Henry's game we all went out for ice cream where Sissy unknowingly entertained everyone by being the slooooowest ice cream eater ever.

Bear was at our house Halloween morning so we had a fun Halloween breakfast while watching Spookley the Pumpkin.

One day she woke up with the idea to build a new house for the "ants" rolley polley's.  So she made a house out of rocks and found as many as she could and placed them in the house.  Playing by the tree in the common ground is one of her favorite things to do!

We went to Nora's birthday party and Oliver test drove her new bike and LOVED it!

Stopping at Cranes for sandwiches and snacks on our way home.

One night on our way home from the grocery store we saw a house with their Christmas lights up so we came home, got in Christmas jammies and turned on Home Alone!

The Disney Junior  Dream Big Princess commercial  is a favorite in our house. Months ago when it came on I started saying "girls are strong and smart and powerfullllll!" and now anytime Ollie hears the commercial he puts his little hand in the air and tries to say the same thing. This is what he is doing in the picture below.

Ollie supports strong powerful women! haha

Walking into the park after we dropped Sissy off at school and he helped me vote.
This election has been crazy, I was looking forward to it being over but now the real crazy is just beginning. :(

I see so much of baby Eleanor in this sweet sleeping face.

She tried Starbursts for the first time around Halloween and she loves the pink ones.  One night she opened a little pack of (2) Starbursts from her Halloween candy and they were both pink.  She was so excited.  Instead of eating them both she gave the other one to me.  When I tried to give it back to her because it was her favorite she insisted she wanted to share with me.

I know I say this all the time but I absolutely adore this girl.  How lucky am I to have a front seat watching her grow up?

Flu shot day.
Sissy was super brave with the help of her Super Girl cape and mask from Aunt Paige.  We accidently left the house without them and even turned around to get them because she really needed them for her shot!

Lord help us, she is getting 4 shots next month at her 4 year checkup.
I'm already predicting having to lay on the table with her to hold her down. :(

I'm certain it doesn't get any cute than this!

Wearing my sunnies, Anny (her doll) is buckled up and singing "All I Want for Christmas is You"

We went to Target and Sissy told me is was Anny's birthday so we had to pick out a little present for her.  We went home wrapped it, then sand Happy Birthday to the doll before "she" opened the present.

We are putting our Christmas tree up on Friday despite Eric's best effort to make us wait until after Thanksgiving!

This Is Halloween

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

I love Halloween!! I'm not sure who was more excited for Halloween night, me or the kids. Leading up we watched Toy Story of Terror, Spookley the Pumpkin, we apple picked, pumpkin patched, carved pumpkins, made Halloween treats, wore Halloween jammies and just tried to enjoy this time of year to the max.

I think we succeeded.

After naps I got them all dressed in their costumes and desperately wanted a picture of them both before we left...preferably with Peter Pan wearing his hat. :) I gave him a sucker to try and bribe him but even that didn't work very well.  He was trying his hardest to rip this hat off!

How cute is my little Peter Pan?!

And my Tinkerbell? She looked adorable!!

MiMi made a super yummy Halloween punch and my little girlfriend couldn't get enough of it!

Best buddies!

Unc surprised the kids by dressing up.  Elle was so excited!!

Doodles and MawMaw.
And Elle drinking more punch in the background. :)

Hensy photo-bomb!

Me and my babies!
This was Ollie's first time trick-or-treating.

Oliver was so interested in the lights everywhere.  He said "what's that?" approximately 100 times.

Everyone stuck with one adult throught the night.
Mary & Bear
Elle & MawMaw
Me & Henry
Unc & Oliver

And Oliver decided pretty early on that is was more comfortable to have Unc just carry him than continue trick-or-treating.

We woke up the next day and immediately took down our Halloween decorations. :(

I'm already looking forward to next year but...
I'm pretty excited for the twinkle lights, music and fun times that comes with Christmas.

Like really, really excited!

Trunk or Treat

This year we participated in our very first trunk or treat. I took a half day at work so we could make sure to get there right at 5 to start setting up.

Elle and I worked on the decorating...

while Oliver napped in the car.

This worked out perfectly! I can't imagine trying to corral him while we decorated.

My little Doc McStuffins!

And Truman Tiger!

These two had fun running around and playing before everything started.

Eric had to work so my mom, Mary and the boys met up to help pass out candy and enjoy some trick or treating.

Overall I loved everything about it.  Dinner was taken care of (we ordered a pizza in advance), they had a DJ playing Halloween music, the weather was AMAZING and most of all the kids had a lot of fun.

While Mary and I walked to kids around Mama Rita stayed back to hand out candy at my car.

Such a fun way to kickoff Halloween weekend!!

On a different note, here is Ollie with our pumpkins this year.

Elle and Ollie each painted a little one.  Eric cleaned the big one and I carved it.
