Halloween 2015

Mary and I decided on Elle's first Halloween to rotate back and forth between our houses every year for Halloween. This year it was our turn to host!

I decided awhile ago that Oliver would be an Italian Chef for Halloween. It was a really easy costume to put together and he looked adorable in it!

This was the first year Elle truly picked her costume by herself.  Last year I gave her 3 options and shoe choose but this year it was all her.  Although I did try by darndest to convince her to be the bide of Frankenstein and Ollie could be Frankenstein but no luck.  I think her idea turned out much better than mine anyway. :)

For the longest time she wanted to be Buzz Lightyear.  Then randomly one day when driving to my parents house she asked to be a "beautiful bird" for Halloween and never turned back after that. I knew we would be going to Boo at the Zoo and Henry had an old Buzz costume that would fit her so she was still able to dress up as Buzz.  I even thought she may change her mind Halloween night and go with the Buzz costume but she was all about the "beautiful bird".

For the record she was NOT an Owl and she couldn't understand why anyone was referring to her as such. One ladies house we trick or treated at even told her an owl joke and Elle was so confused. She was a beautiful bird, people! haha

Eric's parents, my mom and dad, Mary, Nick and the boys all came over to celebrate, eat and hand out candy.  Mary, Mom and I took the kids trick or treating (Ollie stayed back at the house).  Elle and Henry started by arguing over who got to ring the doorbell and thank God no one ended up being at home at the first house because between the 2 of them the doorbell was probably rang no less than 5 times. :) Once we got through to them that they would take turns at each house they did great the rest of the night.  And if someone was sitting in their driveway handing out candy you better believe whoever's turn it was to ring the doorbell would let everyone know they didn't get a turn at that house. :)

Bear was always in the back of the group with Mary, he was a little slower than the big kids.  At one house after someone put candy in his bag he reached out his little hand and said "more". Cutest baby Bear ever!

One thing that I thought was really neat - an ambulance parked on my street and paramedics were handing out glowsticks to trick or treaters. Help keep those kids shining bright in the dark!

Mary, Nick and the boys stayed over late and the babes had fun running in and out of the house (onto the deck) and eating waaaay too much candy. Baby Bear had to borrow a coat from Elle...a little peek at what a baby girl Voss would have looked like. :)

All in all it was a great Halloween!

Life Lately

Here is a look at life lately.
October goes by so so fast because every weekend is filled with some type of fun activity.  Apple picking, pumpkin patches, trunk or treats, boo at the zoo.  So many fun things to cram in!
Ollie boy is so close to being on the move.  He is just about crawling.  He can move around but its more scooting than crawling at this point.   He loves trying to pull himself up to stand.  He was pretty nervous about it at first but then I got a smile out of him. :)  These chubby legs kill me!!

Elle loves to paint! I put her in the highchair so she could watch a Halloween movie while she painted and she looked like a giant sitting in it!

Lots of fun at the park.

The boys had pictures taken and I am in love with this one!! Need to get a print made for my house.

A morning at MiMi's house!

This sweet boy reaches up to be held all the time!! Who could ever say no to this adorable little face.

On our way to Boo at the Zoo. Elle was so excited to be Buzz. The way her face lit up when she looked at herself in the mirror was one of the cutest things I've ever seen. She was convinced Henry wasn't going to recognize her! haha

Henry would randomly get out his walkie talkie and call for backup.  We could here him saying, "I need help, there are a lot of spooky guys here."

Sleepy doodles.

Lazy Sunday mornings.

Both kids had colds recently and they seemed to linger forever!

Painting her pumpkin from the pumpkin patch!

Twins!

The night before Halloween we carved our pumpkins in a mad dash.  Eric was at work, Elle was over it fairly quickly and Oliver was crying so these are the masterpieces we ended up with. :)

The whole family went out for pizza at Stefanina's one night after Henry's soccer game. These two are the best of friends...most of the time!

Give Ollie a can of puffs and he is one happy camper!

He also recently tried pizza and LOVES it!

I bought Elle a new pair of boots and she was so excited because she thought they looked just like the boots Woody and Jessie wear.  She wanted her hair in braids and to ride her horse as soon as she put them on.

We met Mary and the boys at the park for a picnic and some play time. Bear was 100% comfortable in this tree.

Elle was not!

Elle received some special mail one day!  Henry drew her a picture at mom and dad's house and they mailed it to her.  She was so excited!

And that's how we've been spending our fall. :)

Pumpkin Patch

One Saturday while Eric and Nick were on a fishing trip Mary and I decided to take the babes to a pumpkin patch.  We went to a new one in St. Peters that we had never been to and it was a lot of fun!

A quick stop in the petting zoo.

Tractor drivers.

Mary took the kids through the haunted train village while I hung outside with Ollie.

Baby Bear on a horse!

Mary asked Henry to ride the train with Charlie but he immediately said no and jumped into a car by himself.  Elle was ok with riding with him and holding on but she didn't have the best grip!  By the end of the ride (which the driver said was very slow and ended up being about 50 turns as fast as he could go...it looked like he was doing donuts in a parking lot) Bear was slumped down in the car and we could only see the top of his head!  He also lost a shoe at some point during the ride!

This black purse is Elle's favorite, she always insists on taking this one with her and if we can't find it, heaven help me!

We left with a small pumpkin that Elle picked out and about 500 rocks in our shoes. :) It was a fun afternoon.
