Life Lately - Catchup

I'm a little behind on blogging and I don't want to miss the chance to post any little bits of information about my babes.  I always say I write this blog so they can read it when they're older and have a look at their childhood...but really I enjoy reading old posts more than anything!  Just today I read the post I wrote about Oliver being born.  So glad I have all of these random memories saved.

These two love each other so much.  Elle will do anything to calm her brother down when he is crying. The first thing she will do is run through the house into the kitchen to grab a binkie if he ever gets upset...that will usually do the trick. :)

After one of Henry's soccer games we all went to Pantera's for dinner.
Every kid has had their turn on this horse.
Including Mary, Will and I.

After Will came over one night to play hockey in the basement with Eric (seriously...it was like Eric was 12 and had a friend over to play. He even came upstairs wearing his skates and I had to yell "Eric take your skates off before you come upstairs!") Elle wanted a turn downstairs in her roller skates.

She did so great!!

Little brother wanted to try on Sissy's Elena of Avalor shoes.

My big girl and I had a date to go see Beauty and the Beast together. She definitely out-dressed me for the occasion!

We walked in to see princesses everywhere!
Tons of little girls dressed as Belle, plus Anna, Snowhite, Aurora and Belle!

1 Belle and 1 Elle Belle!

This little boy is so great about playing with his toys. He is so content.

Bedtime at our house is usually a fashion show. Elle loves nightgowns now and if she puts on a princess one she will yell "everyone close your eyes!" from her room, then walk out and present herself to us. Then we all (me) exclaim how gorgeous she looks and ask if she is really a princess.

Oh this face! Lord let me never forget this face!
I'm guessing Ollie ran through her picture and girlfriend is none too happy about it!

My babies.
I love them something fierce!!!

Taking a ride on their favorite horse.

I set up a little water station for Elle one day so she could give all her toys a bath. She loved it!

Mary and the boys came over one night to play, watch a movie and eat dinner.  All the kids dressed up as characters (Truman, Princess Belle, etc.) and Mary and I took pictures with them like we were at Great Wolf Lodge. :)

Side note: one of Elle's friends wasn't at school one day. When Eric picked Elle up from school she asked where Emily was. Eric told her she might be on vacation.  The next week Elle told me she asked Emily if she went to Wolf Lodge, after our trip this winter Elle thinks that is the top vacation destination. :)

Elle's Beauty and the Beast tea set gets played with all the time!
Here she is serving Oliver "tea" for lunch.

Baby girl had a GREAT day at dance class so we headed out for snow cones to celebrate!

Family movie night!

A walk through the park after picking Elle up from school!

I found this in her school folder and could not stop laughing!
Elle told me she made her mad because she didn't get dessert.

Her school hosted a night at McDonalds and Elle was so excited to go! She dressed herself and killed it with the accessories! Girlfriend was looking fantastic!

You can also barely see but she applied some of her makeup MiMi gave her for her birthday. Some blue eye-shadow and lipstick. :)

We had a fun day of Chick-Fil-A and shopping with Mary, the boys and Aunt Paige. Afterwards we came home and the kids played with bubbles while I made dinner.

Ollie ended up drenched.

We had the family over for dinner one Sunday and it also happened to be Cardinals Opening Day. After we ate everyone sat in the living room to watch and all the kids fought over who got to sit by MawMaw. You'll never believe who won.

All dressed up and ready to do her homework!

Post nap crazy hair.
I know he will eventually need to get his first haircut and I think I may actually cry when that day comes.

Eric was in Nashville one weekend for a bachelor party so it was just me and the kiddos.
Elle requested a picnic in the park.

This day at the park Oliver totally gave me a run for my money. He was so stubborn and was not listening at all. He bumped his head (intentionally) on the concrete, then as he was running fell face first, again on concrete. Time to load em' up and take em' home.

We regrouped after naps and spent the afternoon playing teacher in the garage.

Ollie loves looking at himself in the phone. He always makes this face and open and closes his mouth.

Short, blonde and handsome.
Check, check and check!

They wanted a lunch picnic in their "cave".

After lunch we met our friends Kelley, Tyler and Ryker at the park.
My kids were exhausted after and passed out immediately!

I love this cuddly little baby!

Summer and warm weather is coming and the curls are getting stronger!!

St. Patrick's Day!

This year for St. Patrick's day it was our first time we tried to catch a leprechaun.  It wasn't something we had originally planned to do (which is odd considering my love for holidays) but when I got to mom's house to pick up the kids the night before Henry and Charlie were talking about their leprechaun trap and I knew we would be doing one too. :) It was really fun and I will be MUCH more prepared for next year!

Here is Elle Belle with our leprechaun trap! By some random miracle I found the shamrock necklace that lights up, which we left on all night to entice the little Irish guy over to the cookie jar where we hoped the lid would fall on him and trap him.

Elle made sure everything was set up perfectly before heading to bed.

Apparently the leprechaun also leaves treats (again, 2018 I'm going to be ready!) so some suckers were thankfully found and placed near the trap.

Elle woke up the next morning SO EXCITED to see if we caught a leprechaun. I was in the bathroom getting ready for work and she went to the kitchen to check.  She was gone so long...she told me she thought the green necklace we left out was him inside the jar. When she got the courage to walk over and check on him he wasn't there.  Although later that morning her story changed to she saw him in the kitchen and he ran away before I could see him. :)

I tried to get a picture of my babes in green but there was some sass happening.

By the time we got to my parents house they were happy and eating their suckers left behind by the leprechaun.

That day I had made green yogurt with chocolate chips for their lunch at my mom's.  My mom sent me this picture to let me know they loved it!

Eric was working this night so we ended the day at home playing on the deck while I drank a glass of wine and made dinner.

Perfect day!

Snow Day

One day in March we woke up to a light snow...even though it barely covered the grass we were still excited. We were bundled up and out the door in no time!

Eric bought this snowsuit for Oliver in the fall and this was the only chance he had to wear it to play in the snow this year.

We didn't stay outside too long...just long enough for Elle to throw some snowballs and for me to pull them on the sled through the yard.  I think my kids love playing in the snow but they also really love the hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows that they get once they come inside. ;)

Ollie's 2nd Birthday!

Last birthday post!

So the morning of Oliver's 2nd birthday he woke up to presents in the kitchen.

Elle was so eager to help, she is the best big sister ever!!

The dude is officially 2!!!!

We settled in for some birthday pancakes for breakfast.

Raise your hand if you're the birthday boy!!

3 cheers for mom not burning the pancakes!

After breakfast we headed outside to test drive his new bike.

Then to the park for some playing, the weather was amazing!

I could not love this sweet boy anymore!!!!

After the park we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch then home for naps.
Once Ollie woke up my mom stopped by to kiss the birthday boy and drop off a few more gifts.

Elle slept though her visit and woke up so sad that she missed out.
She was excited about the surprises MawMaw left for her but really missed seeing her.

We ordered pizza and just enjoyed celebrating our birthday baby the rest of the night.

Oliver Russell will forever be the greatest surprise of my life. I love him something fierce!!
As long as I'm living, my baby he'll be.
