Sissy is officially in preschool! We are on week 2 right now and so far, so good!
The week before she started I had a parent orientation, Eric had to work so I went by myself and a few tears definitely fell when I was writing her this note that her teacher was planning to read to her on her first day of school.
After that meeting I was given an assignment for us to complete before her 1st day. Decorate her binder! This type of stuff is totally up my alley.
Elle wanted to use lots of unicorn stickers!
Finished product!
How cute is this girl?!
So fast forward to the Sunday after Will's wedding, we raced back home for Elle's open house. She was able to drop off her school supplies and check out her classroom.
She LOVED this cash register! To the point that Eric and I were worried she would be super disappointed if she didn't get a chance to play with it on her first day. So far, she has been waiting patiently for the day it comes out at school.
Ollie boy loved exploring Sissy's classroom too!
After we spent some time in her classroom I wanted her to go to the bathroom so she could check that out. I walked her through not locking the door, only turn the blue knob to wash your hands not the red. Then she practiced using the water fountain. The things my mind thinks of. But I know my girl and she needs to be prepared and talk through things to feel confident and comfortable. So we walked through everything.
Next the kids ran wild outside while I waited in line at the food trucks the school brought in for lunch.
The next day while Elle was napping she had a balloon bouquet delivered to our door. It was from the Voss family wishing her luck on her 1st day of school! She was so excited!!
I wanted to start a tradition where the kids get to pick whatever breakfast they want for the first day of school. These were Elle's picks.
Pink donuts (Eric was up and out the door at 6:30 for Elle's pink donut), Fruit Loops (she tried these for the 1st time at the hotel for Will's wedding and fell in love) and Orange Juice.
PreK 3 here we come!!!
See that little key chain? She picked it out and I told her anytime she misses me or feels sad to just squeeze it because I loaded it with hugs from me.
At the end of her first day she told me she squeezed her key chain. :)
Walking her to her room was a whirlwind. I knew we shouldn't stay long, everything I had read said make this part super fast. I was fighting a huge lump in my throat and fighting back tears. We found her desk, she started coloring, took a quick pic of the 3 of us and gave her a huge hug and kiss and she just waved, smiled and said "bye!".
My big girl!!
As soon as I walked out of her classroom I cried like a baby. I just can't believe how fast 3 years has flown by.
Eric and I went to the boohoo mass and social in the cafeteria for parents after, then to my parents to get Ollie and soon it was time to pick up our girl!
Her teacher texted me this pic of her. :)
I was so happy to pick this sweet girl up!
We took her out for lunch (she picked Buffalo Wild Wings) and I tried to get as much info as I could out of her about her day.
We all survived and I think this will be a great year!
